RIP Willem Van Spronsen

Today marks the one year anniversary since Willem Van Spronsen was killed by police at the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma, Washington as he was disabling prison transport buses.

He was a hero in many ways.

There has not been a single event that we've attended where at least one person doesn't come up to us to tell us how Will has changed their life. Even those who didn't know him personally but who have read his words say his ideology has become a driving force in their lives.

"you don’t have to burn the motherfucker down, but are you going to just stand by?"

If you haven't had a chance to listen to Will's last album, which he labeled as his manifesto, you can listen to it here:

You can also read his final words that were sent to friends (often mislabeled as his manifesto). One version of this is presented here: https://crimethinc.com/2019/07/14/on-willem-van-spronsens-action-against-the-northwest-detention-center-in-tacoma-including-the-full-text-of-his-final-statement

He lives on in those that loved him and those who continue his work.

Rest in power, Will.
